"Not Another Horror Movie" Challenges Genre
In a meta-theatrical moment in “Not Another Horror Movie,” Kevin (Joseph F. Tabasco ’15) ran away from his killer, turned to the audience, and seized control of his fate, transforming his character from victim to murderer. “Not Another Horror Movie,” a play directed by Daniel A. Citron ’16, ran through Sunday in the Adams Pool Theatre.
Adapted "Romeo" Not So Sweet
“Romeo and Juliet,” Italian director Carlo Carlei’s most ambitious adaptation to date, attempts to stand out from past renditions of Shakespeare’s famous tragedy. While the film is shot in Verona and follows the play’s general plot, the movie makes the surprising choice to deviate from Shakespeare’s original dialogue, with deeply disappointing results.
"#Queers" in the Pool Again
The Adams Pool used to be a literal swimming pool as well as a place of free expression for students of all sexualities. In the 1990s, the Pool was transformed into a theater, and tonight, on National Coming Out Day, “#Queers” will explore modern queer relationships, a nod to the Pool’s promiscuous past. This student-written comedy, consisting of two one-acts, will run until Sunday.
"Yellow Moon" Rises in the Ex
“Yellow Moon,” the story of two teenage outcasts who fall in love, opens with murder. Lee (Eli W. Pelton ’16) kills his abusive stepfather with a knife in the midst of a passionate brawl. Leila (Juliana N. Sass ’17) witnesses the murder and together, she and Lee run away to the north Highlands of Scotland.
