The other day, my boyfriend’s mom gave him an ant farm. I hadn’t seen one since I was young. It was one of those twin-windowed plastic set-ups. Between two clear plastic panels just smaller than pieces of printer paper, 25 mail-order ants are placed beneath sand and soil and kept from escaping by talcum powder—or in more elaborate arrangements, by a moat. In there the ants dig tunnels, build roadways, construct a viable city that is less than an inch wide.
Retirement Package Draws Faculty Interest
Nearly a quarter of the 176 eligible faculty members—a subset which includes some of the University’s oldest and most renowned professors—accepted a one-time retirement plan that will facilitate their departure within the next five years, the University announced yesterday.

From 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. this afternoon OCS will be hosting a Halloween Open House. If you're "scared about finding a job or something to do this summer," head over there to learn some tricks. And if you want to give in addition to take, bring spare change to donate to the College's UNICEF fund.
