Ben Abercrombie Returns to Harvard for The Game

For the first time since the fall of 2017, Ben Abercrombie has returned to Harvard’s campus. The defensive back, who suffered a career-ending injury in his first collegiate game, took in the 135th playing of The Game at Fenway Park.


Transformative Experience

The Game has a new home for 2018. Dave Mellor, head groundskeeper at Fenway Park, and his staff have spent weeks preparing the ballpark for the gridiron battle between Harvard and Yale.

Use whatever metric you want: Rhode Scholars, Nobel Prizes, Ivy League championships, presidents, famous alumni, respective height of mountains for which the school serves a namesake, acceptance rate, Supreme Court justices, pop culture references, people from any random country that have heard of you. This rendition of The Game features a potent Yale offense against a staunch Harvard defense, but running back Aaron Shampklin will attempt to give the Crimson an offensive punch.

Last year, then-sophomore receiver JP Shohfi racked up 86 receiving yards and a touchdown in Yale's 24-3 win.
