Softball Wins Series Against Brown, 2-1
This past weekend, the Harvard softball team (12-12, 3-5 EIVA) traveled to Providence, R.I. to play a three-game road series against Brown. The Crimson swept Saturday’s doubleheader, but then lost on Sunday, finishing the weekend 2-1. The successful trip improved the Crimson’s conference record as it attempted to defend its 2023 Ivy League title.
Softball Splits Double-Header With Dartmouth, 1-1
On Friday afternoon, the Harvard softball team (10-11, 1-4 EIVA) played at Soldiers Field for the first time this season in a double-header against Dartmouth. The Crimson won the first game, but the reigning Ivy League champs couldn’t keep the momentum going and fell to Dartmouth in the second game. The scheduled third game of the series was canceled due to inclement weather, and will now take place on Tuesday, April 9.

After falling to Princeton in the 2022 Ivy League Softball Championship, the Crimson is ready to reclaim their lost title. The Harvard softball team was ranked second behind the Princeton Tigers in the 2023 Ivy League Preseason Poll, and this second place ranking may be the motivation the Crimson need to upset predictions and defeat the reigning champions.

Despite a sluggish start against out-of-conference opponents, Harvard softball (12-15, 6-3 Ivy) remains in the hunt for the 2022 Ivy League Championship this spring. The team is heating up, most recently with its three-game sweep over Columbia this past weekend, which moved it to second place in the conference standings.
Softball Takes on Spring Break Competition Coast-To-Coast
Ten games, nine days, two coasts, and one Ivy League rivalry later, Harvard softball had a whirlwind of a spring break. Jetting off to California to start a non-stop onslaught of competition, Harvard (8-11, 2-1 Ivy) competed in the UCR/CBU Classic against the University of North Dakota (10-22), California Baptist University (18-16), and Saint Mary’s College (11-10).

After 727 days away from spring competition, Harvard Softball (3-2) has returned in full force, competing in five games over three days from Feb. 25 to Feb. 27 at the Hatter Classic in DeLand, Florida.

In April, Coach Jenny Allard lauded the Crimson (23-17, 16-5 Ivy) for “not having as many quality at bats as we’d like” and “giving pitches away”; last weekend, the team blew those fears out of the water, clinching their second straight Ivy League Title on Saturday and taking the trophy outright on Sunday.
