Many people brought signs; flowers; and other tokens to a memorial set up at the barrier on the intersection of Boylston and Berkley Street; just a few blocks beyond the marathon's finish line.; These shoes were brought by Lisa Mara; a Bostonian runner who finished fifteen minutes before the blasts.; Other items included a marathon medal; candles; and numerous handwritten letters.
