Where to Eat on the Last Day of Restaurant Week
Sadly, Boston’s 2010 Winter Restaurant Week ends today. Since there’s really only day left, we thought we’d suggest a few local Cambridge options where you can enjoy either a two-course lunch for $15.10, a three-course lunch for $20.10, or a three-course dinner for $33.10. Even if you don’t have time, make time, as subsidized HUDS alternatives are few and far between.
Here are five options not too far from Harvard Square that are providing cheaper ways to try what is otherwise normally pretty expensive grub:
1. Henrietta’s Table at the Charles Hotel
Cuisine: A relaxing haunt for comfort favorites like pot roast and chicken pot pie, conveniently located on the mezzanine of the Charles Hotel.
Offering: Light lunch, full lunch, and dinner.
2. Rialto (also on the mezzanine Charles Hotel)
Cuisine: Chef Jody Adams’s new American masterpieces, renowned for dishes like lobster salad and Grilled Wolfe’s neck sirloin steak. Jody Adams is one of Boston’s best, so take advantage of a discounted opportunity to sample her creations, which are usually fairly pricey.
Offering: Dinner only.
3. Sandrine’s Bistro (right next to Apley Court in the Square)
Cuisine: Classic French, fussy and rich. Need we say more?
Offering: Light lunch, full lunch, and dinner.
4. Chez Henri (at Shepard Street and Mass Ave, near the Quad)
Cuisine: “Modern French Bistro with a Cuban Twist.” For Quadlings who don’t want to trek down to Sandrine’s, Chez Henri is a cozy, friendly option only a few minutes down Shepard Street from Currier, Cabot, or Pfoho.
Offering: Dinner only.
5. Evoo (118 Beacon Street in Somerville)
Cuisine: American fusion. No holds barred, this place is one of Boston’s best – Chef Peter McCarthy has a great menu of super tasty but not overly pretentious items that even college students can appreciate. Plus, Evoo, which stands for “Extra Virgin Olive Oil,” just opened in Cambridge recently. Don’t miss this one!
Offering: Dinner only.
Of course, this list is by no means conclusive. For a full list of participating restaurants in Cambridge (or even in the Boston area), check out the Restaurant Week site. Move fast – you’ve only got until dinner tonight!
