Students may be clearing out of Cambridge for summer break, but for the next couple months, Harvard’s athletic facilities will be anything but empty.
Not only will some Crimson athletes be sticking around for summer training and competition, but local kids of all ages will also be taking over some of Harvard’s sports complexes as part of the many summer camps taking place on campus.
Over 20 programs will be offered at the Crimson’s facilities for high school and younger athletes, and although there are no official ties to the university’s Department of Athletics, several of Harvard’s coaches will be involved in the camps.
Sport-specific programs include baseball, basketball, field hockey, football, lacrosse, rowing, sailing, soccer, squash, swimming, tennis, volleyball, water polo, wrestling, and more. Dates for each camp vary, but most run between early- or mid-June and late August. The majority of the sport-specific camps are all encompassing, but others also offer position-specific programming.
The strength and conditioning camp, Athletic Performance Training, is geared towards athletes of all types and offers programming four days a week for up to seven weeks in June and July.
The camps will be starting soon, but not to worry, most are still accepting applications.
