Dartmouth Hires Men's Hoops Coach

By Dennis J. Zheng, Crimson Staff Writer

Dartmouth has hired Golden State Warriors scout Paul Cormier as its men's basketball coach.

Cormier had previously coached at Dartmouth from 1984-1991, accumulating a record of 87-95 with the Big Green. He more recently served as Fairfield's head coach for seven seasons before moving on to posts with several NBA teams.

Cormier fills a vacancy left by former Dartmouth coach Terry Dunn, who resigned before the team's Ivy opener against Harvard on Jan. 9. Assistant coach Mark Graupe stepped in and went 2-12 as interim coach for the rest of the season.

Albany men’s basketball coach Will Brown, one of the three finalists for the position, withdrew his name from the Dartmouth coaching search earlier today. Saint Anselm coach Keith Dickson was the other candidate.

A press conference will be held to introduce Cormier Monday afternoon.
