The 53rd Annual Evening with Champions took place last Friday and Saturday at the Harvard Bright-Landry Hockey Center. The student-run annual fundraiser brings together figure skaters from across the globe to raise money for The Jimmy Fund, the fundraising arm of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. The organization has raised over $3 million since its inauguration.
The exhibition commenced with all individual figure skaters coming together for a choreographed group routine which introduced each performer.
As well as individual or couple routines, there were mesmerizing synchronised skating dances from The Haydenettes.
South Korean and former national champion skaters Hannah Lim and Ye Quan deliver an emotional performance of love and longing. Afterwards they break down their performance with hosts Emily Hughes ‘11 a former US Olympian, and Paul Wylie ‘91, a 1992 Olympic Silver Medalist and 2008 U.S. Figure Skating Hall of Fame Inductee.
South Korean skater Lee Hae-In, the 2023 World silver medalist, skates to “Your Idol” and "What It Sounds Like" from the popular animated movie “Kpop Demon Hunters”.
British skaters Phebe Bekker and James Hernandez debut their new rhythm dance for the upcoming olympic season, energizing the audience with an upbeat and dynamic routine.

Alison Wu skates to “What the World Needs Now” by Barbra Streisand, choreographed by Beth-Ann Duxbury. Despite a tumble on the ice, she recovered gracefully and continued a shining performance.

A series of skaters presents stunning skates as Sasha Streeter elegantly glides across the rink in a spiral, and Jacob Sanchez — a team USA figure skater from Middleton New York — charms the crowd with a routine full of attitude.
Polina Edmunds, a US Olympian, performs her solo “Autumn Leaves” by Doris Day. The Evening with Champions fundraiser has hosted 26 Olympic champions, 181 U.S. National Champions and 605 National Medalists in its history.
The performers come out on the ice for a final bow, smiling and waving at the audience, after a choreographed group performance to wrap up the joyous evening.
