Man Fatally Shot Near MIT's Campus

A man was shot and killed Wednesday evening on Main Street near Kendall Square, according to the Cambridge Police Department.

The fatal shots were fired at 8:41 at vehicle a short distance from Kendall Square and MIT’s campus, according to MIT’s emergency website and the authorities. Shortly after the man was shot, the vehicle containing the victim was driven to a Marriott Hotel in Kendall Square, where it is currently parked. CPD said the victim was declared deceased shortly after being transported to a local hospital but did not release his name.

Police from both Cambridge and MIT are continuing to investigate the shooting, urging those close to the hotel to stay clear of the area. The authorities are searching for suspects.
