A memorial service will be held for former Dean of the Faculty Jeremy R. Knowles on Friday, May 30 at 11 a.m. in Memorial Church.

Knowles, the former Royal Air Force officer who left England to join Harvard’s Chemistry department in 1974, led the Faculty of Arts and Sciences for nearly 12 years, died on April 3 after a prolonged struggle with prostate cancer.

After the morning service, a reception will follow from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. in Annenberg Hall.

In an e-mail to professors, Dean of the Faculty Michael D. Smith said that parking will be available at the Soldiers Field Park Garage with shuttles provided every half hour from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
