Man Who Managed Clients for High-End Cambridge Brothel Network Pleads Guilty
[:00] Game over folks. The Brad Unger era has come to a close and unfortunately for him, it comes on the heels of a disappointing loss. Harvard closes out its Ivy campaign with a 3-11 record. A disappointing season, considering the hype during the pre-season. Harvard posted a 5-9 record in the Ivies last year.....
FINAL SCORE: Yale 81, Harvard 65.
[:19] T.J. Carey, running the floor efficiently, gets the feed up top, takes a couple of dribbles and pulls up for the 18-footer. [Yale 81, Harvard 65]
[1:21] Not much action here as the game trickles down to its end. All five Crimson starters are out as the youth of the squad gets some garbage time minutes. Freshman T.J. Carey throws a nice pass into Doug Miller, but Miller gets called for the travel violation in the blocks. [Yale 79, Harvard 63]
[2:17] Harvard's Demuyakor draws his mark to commit a charge but the Crimson does nothing productive on the offensive end. Back the other way, Harvard picks up its tenth team foul. Yale makes both FTs. [Yale 77, Harvard 63]
[3:20] Harvard goes on a quick 5-0 spurt, capped by a three from Jeremy Lin (Did you expect anyone else?) [Yale 75, Harvard 61]
[4:55] Cem Dinc comes into the game and displays his (lack of) touch as he pounds it off the glass for the miss. Luckily, he gets bailed out by Travis Pinick and gets to shoot to FTs. He only manages to make one. [Yale 75, Harvard 56]
[6:01] Yale's Matt Kyle lives up to his size and finishes with a clean dunk to push the lead back out to 16, following a 3 point play from Harvard. [Yale 71, Harvard 55]
[6:45] Off the timeout, Harvard almost loses the ball but Brad Unger recovers it and kicks it out to Drew Housman. Housman knocks down the long three. Back on the other end, Yale answers with a three of its own [Yale 69, Harvard 52]
[7:30] Pusar drives it baseline and converts a reverse lay-in. [Yale 66, Harvard 49]
[8:42] McGeary playing some nice defense as he pursues his defender all over the court but unfortunately Jeremy Lin picks up a foul off the ball. With Harvard already in the penalty, the Bulldogs get to shoot two.....and make them both. [Yale 64, Harvard 45]
[9:32] Turnovers continue to spell disaster for the Crimson. After another Yale bucket down low, Harvard quickly turns the ball over and is forced to foul to stop the fast break. Clearly frustrated, Brad Unger picks up a technical foul. Being that this is his last collegiate game of his career, I think it's safe to say that things aren't going quite the way he envisioned before the game. [Yale 60, Harvard 45]
[10:31] Jeremy Lin, open on the side, sets his feet.....and KNOCKS DOWN A HUGE THREE. [Yale 56, Harvard 45]
[10:49] Harvard can't do anything on its possession and turns the ball over again. Yale's Alex Zampier flies down the court but Jeremy Lin catches him in time to foul him before getting the easy lay-in. His efforts are in vain however, as he makes both FTs. [Yale 56, Harvard 42]
[11:07] McGeary gets a favorable bounce on the rim and converts the jumper. Harvard is currently on a 6-0 run. Back on defense, Jeremy Lin picks up another steal and gets fouled in transition. [Yale 54, Harvard 42]
[13:04] Lin drains another mid-ranger as he appears to be the only player on Harvard who's interested in winning this game. [Yale 54, Harvard 40]
[14:02] Jeremy Lin tries to give life to his dying team with a fadeaway mid-range jumper. [Yale 52, Harvard 38]
[15:03] Harvard's interior is getting taken out to pasture here as Yale continues to have its way. Pinick, who had nine points in the first half, is well on his way to a 20+ night. [Yale 52, Harvard 34]
[15:37] Doug Miller charged with his first personal (Team's third) which leads to Pinick finishing the three point play. [Yale 50, Harvard 34]
[16:38] The backdoor for the Crimson is once again left wide open as #00 for Yale sneaks himself in there for the basket. [Yale 47, Harvard 34]
[18:29] Trying to rally his team and the crowd, Evan Harris emphatically throws it down with a MASSIVE DUNK. The team responds by forcing a turnover, which Jeremy Lin quickly converts into another two points. [Yale 43, Harvard 34]
[18:43] Yale's Eric Flato comes out of the gates shooting, but misses his first three point attempt. It doesn't matter though, since Travis Pinick is there for the easy put-back. Another Harvard turnover leads to another easy basket for Yale. [Yale 43, Harvard 30]
HALFTIME RECAP:
- Yale's Travis Pinick leads all scorers with 9 points. Drew Housman and Jeremy Lin are leading the Crimson charge with 7 apiece.
- Andrew Pusar had a great start to the half (5 points) but foul trouble has limited him to only 8 minutes of action. (3 personal fouls)
- Yale is dominating in the paint, holding an 18-10 scoring advantage.
- Both teams are shooting the lights out from downtown. Yale = 55% (5 of 9), Harvard = 50% (4 of 8).
- Turnovers are KILLING the Crimson. They've already accumulated 15 turnovers, compared to only six assists. Yale has also fallen victim to the TO bug, but to a lesser extent. (11 turnovers, 7 assists)
- #4 for Yale, Porter Braswell, has racked up an impressive 4 steals already. He also has 6 points and 2 rebounds.
[:00] Harvard meagerly closes out the half with another failed offensive possession. Halftime stats coming soon. Harvard was up by 10 just six minutes ago. Now it's a nine point Yale lead. Wow.
HALFTIME: Yale 39, Harvard 30.
[:41] Yale's Eric Flato is on fire. He drains another three. Adding to the hot streak, #4 for Yale snatches his third steal of the night and races up the court for the lay-in. Yale's looking like an NBA Jam team at the moment. [Yale 39, Harvard 30]
[1:03] The chants of Rogaine finally start to effect Yale's big man, Matt Kyle. He misses both FTs. Harvard Band 1, Kyle 0. On the other end, Harris valiantly goes up strong but gets hacked on the wrist. Shooting two FTs.....Harris makes only one. [Yale 34, Harvard 30]
[2:12] Here's what happened in the past 25 seconds. Yale's Travis Pinick floats a running lay in over Cem Dinc to push the lead out to three. Harvard promptly gives the ball back to Yale and the Bulldogs score another quick basket in transition. [Yale 34, Harvard 29]
[2:37] Two FTs by Yale cuts the lead in half. On the next possession, Housman quickly turnovers the ball by mishandling the inbounds pass. Yale's Eric Flato hits a MASSIVE three to give Yale its first lead since the beginning of the game. [Yale 30, Harvard 29]
[3:19] Media timeout. Yale mounting a strong comeback in the last few possessions. Successive turnovers on offense by the Crimson have allowed the Bulldogs to come within four. Harvard's shooting, prolific earlier in the half, has gone by the wayside and the interior problems that have plagued this team throughout the season are once again creeping up to haunt them. Let's see how the Crimson respond after the timeout. [Harvard 29, Yale 25]
[4:01] #15 for Yale, Matt Kyle (6'11) puts in the jumper despite the "Rogaine" chants coming from the Harvard band. [Harvard 29, Yale 23]
[5:15] #4 for Yale has blazing speed and runs it down the court past four Crimson defenders.....unfortunately he has no finish and misses the easy lay in.
[6:10] Harris, shooting 76% from the charity stripe on the season, only manages to make 1 of 2 FTs. Yale makes a trey to cut the lead to eight before Fitzgerald takes a hard foul on the inside (His defender practically jumps on his back). The freshman misses both FTs, but Lin causes a Yale deflection to go out-of-boudns. On the inbounds, Jeremy Lin goes iso on his man....but dribbles it off his foot. [Harvard 27, Yale 19]
[6:52] Harris snatches a tough board and swings his elbows wildly to claim the ball. The board leads to an Andrew Pusar basket. Harvard back up by double-digits. [Harvard 26, Yale 16]
[8:29] #23, Nick Holmes of Yale, fouls Unger which puts his team in the penalty. Unger converts both FTs. [Harvard 24, Yale 14]
[8:42] Bullet pass from #22, Eric Flato of Yale. His man misses the lay up but Travis Pinick (#5) promptly puts the ball away by dunking it for the tip-in. [Harvard 22, Yale 14]
[9:45] He does it on offense and defense! Lin comes up with another steal, but the Crimson make nothing of it, turning the ball over on offense. At the other end, Yale draws a foul (Evan Harris with his 2nd personal, team's 6th). #5 makes 1 of 2. [Harvard 22, Yale 10]
[10:24] #33 for Yale, Caleb Holmes, tries to go baseline on Evan Harris but steps out of bounds. Housman brings up the ball, tosses it up alley-oop style for Jeremy Lin who continues lighting up the scoreboard. [Harvard 22, Yale 9]
[12:13] Jeremy Lin comes up with the steal, pushes it up court to Housman. Housman heaves a pass on the other side of the court to McGeary....who steps up and DRAINS the three. [Harvard 20, Yale 7]
[12:29] After Yale converts a FT (1 of 2), Harvard comes back down the court, moving the ball around the perimeter, Housman puts up a prayer of a floater.....and promptly gets rejected. [Harvard 17, Yale 7]
[13:43] McGeary misses his second three in the row but Lin continues his hot streak by grabbing the offensive board and putting it back in for two. [Harvard 17, Yale 6]
[15:12] Harvard currently leads 15-6 after some senational play from the three point line. Pusar and Jeremy Lin hit consecutive threes to take the lead early on. Lin has been unstoppable for the first five minutes (5 points, including a reverse lay in) and Brad Unger has been dominant on the inside (4 points). Timeout, Yale. [Harvard 15, Yale 6]
