POSTCARDS FROM THE EDGE

Four members of the Arts board traveled to the fourcorners of the globe this summer. They reflect on their artistic adventures in this special report.

By Crimson arts Staff

They say that absence makes the heart grow fonder, but this summer, four of our editors found out that there’s more than one meaning to that aphorism.

All of them stepped off their respective flying machines and arrived in foreign lands. Two of them experienced the onslaught of culture, and found themselves in various degrees of disgust. Two of them, in being absent from their homelands, found a new fondness in their hearts towards the art of their adopted environs. Nevertheless, all four of our travelers returned with a wholly new perspective on the world of art, and the art of the world.

Make sure to catch their written snapshots—assembled alongside photos of their summer locales, from Berlin to Beijing—in our special two-page spread.
