You’ve Come a Long Way, Baby

Not much has changed about Dylan P. Reese ’07 since he was named one of the “15 Hottest” his freshman year. In fact, Reese has only gotten hotter as he’s gotten older. Still, he has revised his definition of class from “running around in a khaki suit wasted” to “always doing the right thing.” He also points to his roommate Justin E. Tobe ’07 as his current model of hotness. As for next year, Reese plans to pursue a professional hockey career.

Lauren L. Jackson ’07 complains that she “still has to beat off potential suitors with a stick.” Jackson has spent the last three years dancing, acting, and choreographing with CityStep and Expressions, which is why her hottest Saturday night is “choreographing in her underwear.” Jackson leaves Harvard to live her dream of becoming “a starving artist” in “New York City, the Harvard After-Party.”

According to Carle D. Stenmark ’07 being named one of the “freshman fifteen” has been “both a blessing and a curse: walking to class is an arduous process. “I am frequently late because girls ask to take pictures with me. The label sticks whether you like it or not.” Stenmark looks forward to stepping out of the spotlight. He’s got a hot girlfriend and hot job in private equity at Summit Partners lined up for next year.

How has FM’s “15 Hottest” changed Akash Goel ’07’s life? “I’ve had to deal with utter disbelief and confusion among the Harvard community for the past four years.” These days, the hottest thing about Goel is his chest hair, “the sweater that God won’t let me take off.” Sounds sweaty. A man with a plan, Goel can’t wait until next year when he will “play bass guitar and sing backup in a Def Leppard cover band while living in a van down by the river.”

As a freshman, Annie R. Shawn ’07 became a hot commodity after FM’s “freshman fifteen” hit the stands. “There was this date auction for Habitat for Humanity and Shannon Christmas [’04] bought a date with me for $220.” Awkward. Shawn plans on taking her hotness to the world of medicine after graduation where she will research drug addiction.

For the past four years, Diana C. Montoya-Fontalvo ’07 has been so busy with dance and pre-med classes that she’s traded in her nights of “Salsa dancing” for “sleeping.” Montoya-Fontalvo’s new definition of class is “a person who comes out of a hard situation with their head up.” Next year, she sets off for Columbia Medical School, ready to move on to bigger and better things. “I am moving to my favorite city, to live with my favorite person, and I don’t have to go to class anymore.”

What did Arianna Brandolini d’Adda ’07 learn from her experience as one of FM’s hottest freshman? “Looks really do matter.” For Brandolini d’Adda, being hot means doing the unexpected like “streaking [through] Quincy dining hall...at 3 am.” Next year she will “save the world, one crazy person at a time” as she works toward becoming a psychologist. Brandolini d’Adda claims her peak was Pre-frosh weekend 2003, but FM thinks the best is yet to come.

Like many of our hot seniors, Pia S. Desai ’07 is taken. When asked about her ideal mate, she told FM “I like the one I’ve got.” Hottest thing Desai has done at Harvard? “Transferred back to the Quad from Eliot.” After graduation, Desai will move to New York to begin consulting at McKinsey and Company.

J. O. “Joc” Christiana ’07 says he’s “still got it.” Since the 15 Hottest photo shoot, Christiana has cooled off doing what he loves: “Diving into a freezing cold swimming pool every morning at 6 am for four years.” He plans to trade in his goggles for spreadsheets as he goes on to do equity research for a firm in Connecticut.
