WEB UPDATE: Pizzotti To Return in 2008

By Crimson staff, Crimson Staff Writer

Harvard quarterback Chris Pizzotti, fresh off a brilliant performance in the Crimson’s 37-6 win in The Game, will be returning for a fifth season.

Pizzotti, who missed the 2005 season with a back injury, is eligible to receive an injury waiver and return to Harvard next year.

"It was something I was planning on since the accident my sophomore year," Pizzotti said. "In the past couple of weeks, I thought pretty hard about it and realized I wasn’t really ready to stop playing football. Harvard football has meant a lot to me these past four years and I want to try to do whatever I can do to help win back-to-back Ivy League titles."

Pizzotti is 11-1 as the starting quarterback for the Crimson, and finished the 2007 season with 2,134 yards and 14 touchdowns against just four interceptions. He became the starter this year after a shoulder injury to fellow senior Liam O’Hagan ended his season during Harvard’s game against Lehigh.

Pizzotti will be among six returning starters on the Crimson's offense next season, along with seven returners on defense.
