To the editors:
We would like to clarify some points in “‘Hahvahd’ Tours Nearly Stopped by Administration” (news, July 7). Jordan C. Jones ’07 and Daniel A. Schofield-Bodt ’07, who are leading the “Hahvahd Tour,” were both members of the Crimson Key Society (CKS) and official Harvard tour guides, receiving extensive tour-guide training as a result of the CKS comp process. Much of their tour is a direct result of that training and experience and is almost identical to those provided by official Crimson Key tour guides.
As a service organization, we were dismayed that Crimson Key members would use said training to solicit tips that, according to the Boston Globe and CNN, exceed $2,000 per week. With Jordan and Dan no longer serving as Crimson Key members, we hope to continue offering an enjoyable, truthful, and memorable experience for Harvard’s visitors.
