After squandering a late lead in a hearbreaking loss to Cornell on Friday, the Crimson made sure it had enough insurance to defeat Colgate (3-6-2, 0-3-1 ECAC), winning 4-1 on Saturday at Starr Rink.
With both teams serving frequent sentences in the penalty box during the first period, Harvard (2-4, 1-4) finally broke through during a 5-on-3 advantage, with junior Mike Taylor netting the rebound after a blocked shot by freshman Doug Rogers.
With the score tied at 1 in the second period, sophomore Jimmy Fraser put the Crimson ahead for good. When an errant shot bounced off the boards and trickled in front of the Raiders' net, Fraser swooped in and fired it into the left side of the net.
Harvard dashed any hopes of a Colgate comeback in the third, as the 2-1 lead ballooned to a 4-1 advantage on goals by junior J.D. McCabe and captain Dylan Reese.
The Crimson will return home next weekend to face Brown and Yale.
