Everyone talks about not wanting to be “that kid” in section, but few
people have actually called him up on his dorm phone to talk. Until
now! Sam Teller ’08 met up with That Kid in the women’s restroom in
Sever, the location of his red phone.
Sam Teller: In
section, you once said, “Reality is an illusion created by the
proto-industrialist class of late 17th-century Europe.” What’s your
favorite color?
That Kid: To summarize, on page 476, Foucault says…
ST: We didn’t read Foucalt for this class.
TK: Right, but, the thing about my comprehensive knowledge of the underside of monkey brains is…
ST: This is an English class…
TK: Right, but, about the fundamental misattribution error…
ST: We are sitting in the bathroom.
TK: Technically, that’s true, but if you adopt a post-Freudian perspective…
ST: Want to make out?
TK: Maybe.
ST: I’m so glad we’ve gotten to the bottom of this.
TK: Me too. Now let’s get to the bottom of your throat!
Sam Teller ’08, who will become an associate editor of this
magazine next semester, lives in Pfoho. But right now he’s living in
paradise.
