Du, Daigneau clean up conference awards after wins

By The Crimson Staff

Senior John Daigneau, netminder of the No. 14 Harvard men’s hockey team, was named ECAC Goaltender of the Week yesterday, and junior center Kevin Du picked up Player of the Week after last Tuesday’s 3-2 victory over Quinnipiac and last Thursday’s 1-0 shutout of No. 9 UNH on the road.

Du had one goal and two assists during the week, contributing to three of the Crimson’s four goals.

Fourteen games into the season, the pivot leads Harvard’s scoring list with three goals and 13 assists.

Meanwhile, though Daigneau let in two of the Bobcats’ 14 shots in Tuesday’s win, he stonewalled all 32 of the Wildcats’ shots Thursday, earning his second career shutout.

Entering the game, UNH’s top line had amassed 66 points alone—against Daigneau, the trio went home emptyhanded.

Harvard had not beaten the then-No. 9 Wildcats since 1994.
