Brotemarkle named 2004 Ivy Pitcher of the Year

Six Crimson softball players earned All-Ivy League recognition this season, topped by 2004 Ivy Pitcher of the Year, co-captain Kara Brotemarkle. Brotemarkle was joined on the first-team by freshman third baseman Virginia Fritsch and junior pitcher/utility player Lauren Bettinelli. Outfielders freshman Julia Kidder and junior Lauren Stefanchik received second-team honors, and co-captain second baseman Sara Williamson was named honorable mention All-Ivy.

Brotemarkle, who anchored the pitching staff for the Crimson with a a 10-11 record and an ERA of 1.93, is Harvard’s second pitcher ever to be named Ivy League Pitcher of the Year.
