President Lowell was made grand commander of the order of the Legion, of Honor at a presentation ceremony held in University Hall yesterday morning. For several years President Lowell has been a commander of the order. The new honor was conferred "for his services to education."
The presentation of the five pointed cross of the order was made by J. C. Joseph Flamand, French consul at Boston, in behalf of the French Government. The ceremony took place in the faculty room of University Hall in the presence of Mrs. Lowell and deans of the College.
