Skiing Teams Wrap Up Season With 10th-Place Finish at EISA Championships

The Harvard ski teams closed out their seasons last weekend with a 10th place finish out of 19 teams at the EISA Championships, held at Middlebury.

Women’s Nordic captain Anna McLoon took ninth in a stacked field in the 5K free skate, finishing in a time of 14:04.6. She also finished 17th in the 10K Classic in 31:49.0. Freshman Jenna Harlow closed out a promising rookie season with a 48th-place finish in the 5K and a 47th-place finish in the 10K.

Another freshman, Magnus Grimeland, led the Crimson men in the cross-country events, taking 59th in the 10K free skate and 57th in the 15K Classic. Freshman Russ Leino and senior Ross Macdonald took 61st and 62nd, respectively, in the free skate and 59th and 60th in the Classic.

In the men’s giant slalom, freshman Daniel Tsai finished his season on a strong note, finishing in 43rd with a time of 2:07.78. Freshman Eric Ode was 58th with a time of 2:19.03. Captain Matt Perone did not complete his second run.

In the slalom, Perone led Harvard finishers with a 47th place finish and a time of 1:37.57. Ode came in 49th with a time of 1:39.95. Tsai did not finish the second run.

For the women, sophomore Susannah Dickerson led the pack in both the slalom and the GS. Dickerson took 55th in the slalom (1:54.18) and 61st in the GS (2:25.46). Junior captain Molly Simmons and senior Rachael Wagner took 64th and 65th, respectively, in the GS, while the two swapped those finishes in the slalom.

Next up for McLoon will be the NCAA Championships, held in Truckee, Calif., on Mar. 10-13.
