M., W. Skiing Place 10th At Dartmouth Carnival Behind Captain McLoon

The Harvard men’s and women’s Nordic and alpine skiing teams continued to improve upon strong performances this season, finishing 10th at the Dartmouh Carnival last weekend.

Once again, the Crimson was anchored by women’s Nordic captain Anna McLoon.

On Friday, McLoon took sixth in the 5K free technique, finishing in 14:45.67, and finished ninth in the 15K Classic on the second day of action with a time of 56:58.8.

Freshman Jenna Harlow, making great strides in her rookie season, took 49th in the 5K with a time of 17:26.3, and 40th in the 15K in 1:03:50.8.

Senior Ross MacDonald and freshman Russ Leino took 62nd and 63rd in the men’s 10K free skate.

Up on the hill, freshman Daniel Tsai continued to impress, taking 29th in the slalom in 1:49.45 and 41st in the giant slalom with a time of 2:10.66.

Captain Matt Perone and freshman Eric Ode took 51st and 52nd, respectively, in the GS. Ode also finished 37th in the slalom with a time of 2:21.16.

The two women’s alpine finishers took consectutive places in the slalom, with junior captain Molly Simmons coming in 44th with a time of 2:57.01 and freshman Katie Connors taking 45th in 3:07.22.

Conners took 49th in the GS and Simmons was 51st.

On deck for Harvard is the Williams Carnival, held Feb. 20-21.
