8 Takeaways From Harvard’s Task Force Reports
Ted Mayer writes an interesting response to the Crimson editorial about Harvard University Dining Services’ (HUDS) cost cutting (Letters, “HUDS Bases Decisions On Undergraduate Needs,” Sept. 27). In it, he says “Further, we have renovated 10 dining halls in seven years, and will complete the final two, Dunster and Mather, next summer—all of which is HUDS funded.”
What he fails to mention is that Dunster and Mather, though badly in need of renovation, were not even tentatively scheduled to be renovated until action was taken by Dunster House co-Master Ann Porter this summer.
Porter’s determination and action in the best interest of students is the reason Dunster and Mather students will be finally enjoying dining hall parity, not HUDS’ so-called “unwavering diligence.”
