July 2:

2:00 p.m.—Cambridge Police Department (CPD) officers arrested Anthony C. Washington at the Harvard Square Kiosk on charges of domestic assault and battery. The victim was transported to court to seek a restraining order.

3:34 p.m.—Officers were sent to the intersection of Mt. Auburn and Dunster Streets where a local resident claimed that a white male parking control officer called him a “faggot” and extended his middle finger. The individual who filed the report told the parking control officer to come back and say it to his face.

6:10 p.m.—Officers received a report from a Medford resident of someone breaking and entering a motor vehicle. A Dell laptop, owned by Harvard University, was stolen from the vehicle.

6:22 p.m.—CPD officers were dispatched to Chilton Street to take a report of a break-in at a first floor apartment. The residents reported the theft of change, jewelry and a diamond ring.

July 3:

(no time given)—CPD officers responded to a report at 1400 Mass Ave. from a homeless male who stated that three white males assaulted him.

(no time given)—A resident of Everett reported that two teenaged girls assaulted her over a matter involving her son and one of the girl’s little brother. The girls allegedly pushed the reporting person to the ground and then punched and kicked her.

(no time given)—A Cambridge resident reported that she received 21 phone calls between 11:19 p.m. to 12:05 a.m. The reporting resident and suspect had a relationship that ended over a year ago.

11:25 p.m.—Officers arrested Kevin Merzier at Columbia Park on charges of trespassing and possession of narcotics with the intention to distribute within 100 feet of the park.

July 4:

(no time given)—A Cambridge resident reported that a homeless man known as Jimmy slapped him several times across the face.

12:35 a.m.—Officers were dispatched to the area of Brookline and Chestnut St. after two Cambridge residents reported an attempted robbery with a knife. A struggle ensued and the suspects fled.

July 5:

4:00 p.m.—CPD officers arrested Patricia Golsom, a.k.a. Robin Shuneek, at St. Patrick’s shelter on Mass. Ave. for possession of cocaine.

8:10 p.m.—Thomas C. Johnson, a Maryland resident, was arrested at 16

Garden St. on charges of domestic assault and battery and intimidation of a witness.

(no time given)—Officers took a report from an employee of Staples on John F. Kennedy Street that two digital cameras were stolen on June 29.

July 6:

12:05 p.m.—Officers arrested Kim Duane Bell of Mattapan, Mass. at the intersection of Mass. Ave. and Albany Street for larceny over $250.

10:40 p.m.—CPD officers responded to the report of a juvenile from Billerica, Mass. who claimed that a white teenage male began swearing at her and threw a bottle that struck her in the head.

11:20 p.m.—CPD officers arrested Kesing Singleton in his Walden St. home on charges of domestic assault and battery.

11:30 p.m.—A Cambridge resident reported that while walking down Harvard St., two Hispanic males grabbed her suddenly, pushed her to the ground, took her purse and fled. Contents included $100, a Mass. drivers license, a debit card, a cell phone and keys.

July 7:

(no time given)—A Cambridge resident reported to CPD that sometime in April 2003, her grandson used her credit cards without her knowledge, charging in excess of $24,000.

(no time given)—Officers responded to report from the owner of the Gypsy Moon on Mass. Ave., who claimed that sometime between 5 p.m. on July 6 and 10 a.m. on July 7, an unknown suspect keyed the front window of the front store.

(no time given)—A resident of Cambridge reported that on June 2 at 8:30 a.m., she lost her wallet after having coffee at Harvard Square. She believes she was pickpocketed.

July 8:

6:45 p.m.—CPD officers arrested Joseph Barboza at the intersection of Cambridge St. and Mass. Ave. on the charge of possession of narcotics and operating an unregistered motor vehicle.

8:30 p.m.—A Walden Street resident reported her 14-year-old granddaughter missing from her mother’s house in Malden since the previous evening. The missing person’s legal guardian said she has run away before due to family problems.

9:45 p.m.—Officers arrested Katia Antoine of Wilmington, Mass. at 220 Alewife Brook Pkwy. She was charged for assault and battery of a child with a dangerous weapon.

July 9:

9:05 a.m.—CPD officers arrested a homeless woman identified as Jean Grainger at the Cambridge Common for spraypainting a few benches.

11:35 a.m.—Officers arrested Ronald Flores at the McDonald’s in Central Square for threatening another man in the restaurant with a knife.

1:10 a.m.—Officers took the report of an East Boston resident who said she was approached by a group of males who surrounded him and punched him in the face while attempting to make a delivery to a Washington Street apartment.

(no time given)—An officer was dispatched to the area of Blanchard Road near the White Hen Pantry after a report of gunshots. Nothing was found. Two males setting off fireworks were the likely cause.
