Female Terrorists Prove Generalizations False

Letter to the Editors

By Glenn Kinen

To the editors:

Nine days after our nation was attacked, Arianne R. Cohen ’03 wrote in these pages, (Opinion, “Women Don’t Do This,” Sept. 20, 2001)“Women don’t form terrorist groups and attack civilian populations.” So far this year, two Palestinian women have blown themselves up in terrorist attacks, killing and wounding both Israelis and Palestinians.

I wonder whether Cohen has reconsidered her opinion.
