The Starbucks coffee shop on Church St. was robbed around midnight on Saturday, according to the Cambridge Police Department (CPD).
Two black males demanding money entered the popular coffee shop and tied up two employees, said CPD spokesperson Frank D. Pasquarello.
One of the suspects carried a handgun, but no one was injured in the robbery, Pasquarello said.
Pasquarello said he could not comment on the amount of money stolen.
No arrests have been made in the robbery, a crime which Pasquarello said was a rare occurrence in the Square.
Starbucks spokesperson Lindsay Ransick declined to comment on the robbery, saying she did “not want to do anything to jeopardize the investigation.”
The robbery occurred one hour after the coffee shop was scheduled to close.
Starbucks employees also declined to comment yesterday on the robbery, but the coffee shop closed early yesterday, at 5 p.m. instead of 11 p.m.
