“That Cosentino is the real deal.”

—Northeastern coach Don Brown, praising Harvard quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick. Brown had Fitzpatrick confused with Hofstra quarterback Ryan Cosentino, whom the Huskies played September 28.

“They’re like clones.”

—Brown, on Fitzpatrick and senior quarterback Neil Rose, whom Fitzpatrick replaced in the second quarter.

“To put it in perspective, in the ’97 season, we dropped one ball in 10 games.”

—Harvard coach Tim Murphy, on the 10 dropped passes by Crimson receivers,

three coming on the final drive.

“That was my fault.”

—Murphy, blaming Fitzpatrick’s misguided throw to Carl Morris at the end of the first half

on poor play-calling. If Morris had caught the ball, time would have expired before

the Crimson could have attempted a field goal.

“Honestly, I didn’t even see it. I just heard everyone cheering.”

—Northeastern quarterback Shawn Brady, on his fourth-quarter touchdown pass to Cory Parks. Brady barely escaped charging Harvard defensive end Brian Garcia before heaving the ball to Parks for the game-winning score.

“We were pointing to this game all year.”

—Brown, explaining how important it was for Northeastern to snap a five-game winless streak against the Crimson.
