July 1
A resident of Revere St. reported to the Cambridge Police Department (CPD) that she was struck on the right shoulder with a paintball shell while on Hampshire Street. Two youths were identified after an investigation. The victim refused medical help.
8:45 p.m.--A Cambridge resident reported to CPD that a female suspect threatened him with physical violence. The resident later discovered that someone had thrown eggs at his front door and window of his residence. The victim has a civil complaint pending against the suspect.
July 2
2:20 a.m.--A resident reported to CPD that five teens walked on the hood, roof and trunk of his motor vehicle. The victim also stated that the teens damaged the entire vehicle and then fled toward Mass. Ave.
2:40 p.m.--A person from Albany St. reported to CPD that a person's arms were hanging from under a toilet stall. Emergency response arrived and revived the person who had overdosed on heroin. Personnel was notified, and the victim was taken to Cambridge Community Hospital.
July 3
9:20 p.m.--A Spring Street resident reported to CPD that his nine-year-old son was playing at Hurley Street Park and apparently splashed one or two boys that were also playing in the sprinkler area. One of the boys splashed the son back before leaving to pick up a baseball bat. After returning, he walked back to the son and threatened to commit an act of violence. The father intervened, explaining his son's problem, and the suspect stated, " I don't care; I'm going to bash his face in."
8:00 p.m.--An employee of Kitchen's Cabinet reported to CPD that a white female entered the store and returned two items. As the suspect exited the store, she picked up a cookware set valued at $500. When stopped and questioned by the clerk, the suspect stated that it was an even swap for the defective items she had returned and then continued to walk out of the store.
July 4.
12:11 a.m.--A Harvard University Police Department (HUPD) unit was dispatched to Au Bon Pain and removed a group causing a disturbance.
12:13 a.m.--A caller reported to HUPD that a group of youths was setting off fireworks in a courtyard. Officers were sent to investigate.
12:20 a.m.--Edel Carrassquillo of Bronx, N.Y. was arrested by CPD after fleeing from a motor vehicle accident at Mass. Ave. and Exeter Park. Once stopped, Carrassquillo was observed reaching into the legs of his shorts, stating that he kept his license there. At that time a bulge and part of a plastic bag was observed in his socks.
12:51 a.m.--A caller reported to HUPD that she observed two males attempting to steal a bicycle at the Boylston Hall side of Widener Library.
1:11 a.m.--Two males were stopped by HUPD at Paine Hall, field interviewed and given warnings for trespassing on Harvard property.
5:25 p.m.--A Pearl Street resident reported to CPD that she was having a domestic dispute with her son over a motor vehicle in the driveway. Both parties admitted to being very upset with each other. The son packed his belongings and moved out.
11:10 p.m.--A resident of Reservoir Street reported to CPD that a passenger in a vehicle with Massachusetts registration threw a half-empty Gatorade bottle, hitting the resident's head.
July 5
9:55 p.m.--A Newtowne, Conn. resident reported to CPD that an unknown male wearing a hockey mask and wig approached a seven-year-old. The suspect pushed the resident's son against a tree and took his house and mail keys, Pokemon wallet and $7 in cash, as well as a picture. The suspect fled the area.
July 6
12:34 a.m.--HUPD units assisted CPD with a pass assault and battery. The incident took place at the Harvard T station. The victim called on the Emergency Box at Fogg Museum. The incident was first reported as an unarmed robbery and appears to be a mutual assault. Victims were transported to Cambridge City Hospital for treatment. CPD handled the report.
9:10 a.m.--A Cambridge resident reported to CPD that she left her apartment and was exiting the front door when the suspect began yelling and screaming about a sign in the lobby. The suspect was waving a pipe around. The resident fled and contacted the police.
