Looking Past Radcliffe

To the editors:

I am sorry Daniel M. Suleiman's senior status means that "Farewell, Radcliffe; Be Fair, Harvard" (Column, April 27) is the last of his columns. I have found them unusually perceptive and especially understanding of the concerns of women in what he rightly describes as "still a predominantly male institution."

I look forward to the time when the hope expressed by Dean Knowles in his Spring 1997 fax to Suleiman, that all admissions and appointments be gender-blind, becomes a reality.

Thanks to Suleiman for all his good work and best wishes for the future. NANCY G. TOBIN '49   Wellesley Hills, Mass., May 1, 1999
