Presidential Office Hours

Office Hours. Every TF and professor has themait s usually just a matter of whether or not you go. Believe it or not, University President Neil L. Rudenstine has them too, but shaking paws with the big man can be a bit more challenging than a quick run to Loker Commons to chat up your latte-loving Lit and Arts B TF.

While Rudenstine is under no obligation to do so, he holds office hours about once a month for 60 minutes. >=It s really something. He does it because he enjoys meeting the students,<= says Jane A. Moody, staff assistant.

Be warned: supposedly >=informal<= Rudenstine s office hours has rules. You are allowed one meeting per academic year and the meeting lasts ten minutes. >=We keep a list of who came,<= Moody informs. With eight office hours opportunities this year, a maximum 48 students will convene with the chief during the reserved time. So, if you re doing the math, you can meet with Rudy for 40 minutes during your four years here.

Get to o.h. early if you can. You need to sign up for a spot, and it s on a first-come-first-serve basis. Sign-up runs from 3 to 4 p.m., and the office hour runs from 4 to 5 p.m. Also, it s hard to find out when office hour is, unless you stop by Mass. Hall. >=It s publicized in the Gazette,<= Moody says. But if you can t get your hands on the Gazette, take out a pen immediately and mark your calendars: the last two office hours of the year are on April 22 and May 10.
