With Springfest fast approaching, the Campus Life Committee has been reaching outside its membership for participation, creativity, and a campus-wide atmosphere. In order to do this, the Undergraduate Council has sought out and awarded grants to encourage a wide range of activities. The result of this effort is the inclusion of numerous student groups and House Committees at Springfest.
Student groups participating include the National Champion Women's Hockey Team, the Chinese Students Association, the Radcliffe Choral Society, the Progressive Student Labor Movement, the Harvard Radcliffe Science Fiction Association, the Juggling Club, the South Asian Association, and many more. Pforzheimer, Kirkland, and Leverett House Committees will also be putting on events.
With all of this participation, Springfest will be expanded to an event beginning Friday, April 30th and ending the following Saturday evening. Complimenting the Violent Femmes and numerous amusements Saturday afternoon, will be a Battle of the Bands, a movie night, a dance, free food supplied by CSA and the Harvard Hellenic Society, a human chess game, a slapshot event, body paint, juggling, and more. Come experience Springfest '99!
We hope to see everyone there May 1st! For more information about student group or house committee participation please contact Stephen Smith at snsmith@fas.
