If you are looking for something to do on Saturday afternoon, you need not look further than Harvard's athletic facilities just across the Charles River.

The first annual Spring Fling to support Harvard athletics will take place tomorrow between 12:30 and 2:30 p.m. Festivities will consist of a barbecue on Soldiers Field between the baseball field, the softball field and the outdoor track.

Sponsored by the Harvard Varsity Club and the H Club--Harvard's new athletic fan club--the Spring Fling is aimed at getting students to Soldiers Field to support several teams that have games tomorrow.

The event was organized primarily by the three senior undergraduate representatives of the Varsity Club--baseball captain Hal Carey, men's soccer goalkeeper Jordan Dupuis and women's volleyball co-captain Kate Nash.

"There are going to be great games to watch," Nash said. "We're just trying to get people across the river to support Harvard athletics."

Several Harvard teams will be in action tomorrow afternoon, including men's lacrosse versus Yale at 2 p.m., softball against Cornell at 1 p.m., women's water polo hosting the Eastern championships all day and J.V. baseball versus Pennsylvania.

Food at the event is free for members of the Varsity Club and the H Club, and $5 for everyone else. The event's sponsors have food for over 100 people, and they expect it to be a good time for all who attend.

"I'm excited about it," Nash said. "The weather is supposed to be gorgeous, and it should be a lot of fun." --EDUARDO PEREZ-GIZ
