I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream!

Although mellifluous ice cream trucks no longer circulate, there are other options for the gaggles of children drooling for this tantalizing taste bud treat. Only a hop, skip and a jump away are Herrell's, Toscanini's and Baskin Robbins. With so many options there is no excuse not to partake, leaving only one question: Jimmies or sprinkles?

Herrell's

The topping kings of Harvard Square, Herrell's offers orange hot fudge, hot butter rum sauce, the legendary candy "smoosh ins" and for the intrepid, Jalapeno flavored ice cream. Located in a former Dunster Street bank, the jewel of this establishment is no doubt the converted walk-in vault which is now a mirrored faux-underwater fantasy room. For health nuts, FM's pick: fat free, no sugar hot fudge.

Willing to give any flavor a try, Toscanini's is by far the most exotic ice cream distributor in the Cambridge area, offering such flavors as Guiness (beer flavored), Grape-Nut and basil ice cream. On the lighter side: mango sorbet/micro Sunday for $1.90.
