Indiana's Recker Will Transfer

INDIANAPOLIS--Luke Recker, Indiana's leading scorer last season, has decided to transfer, becoming the third starter in the past two years to leave Bobby Knight's Program.

The 6'6 sophomore swingman said yesterday that he hasn't decided which school he will attend next season.

Unlike the other recent transfer, however, Recker said the reason was his own lack of development as a player, not because of any personal conflict with the Hoosiers coach.

"I appreciate the opportunity given to me by coach Knight," Recker said in a statement yesterday. "However, I have not been satisfied with my development as a player. I blame no one but myself for this and believe my development will best be served in another program.

Recker started 30 of 32 games and averaged 12.8 points a game as a freshman, then started 33 of 34 games last season, averaging 16.1 points a game.
