Mather Suspect Denied Bail

HARVARD BRIEF

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

A Middlesex County judge denied late Monday a bail request for Kevin Morrison, a suspect in a March 19 assault on two female students in the Mather House courtyard.

Morrison, 21, is charged with two counts of armed robbery. He is now being held at an undisclosed jail in the county, according to Anson Kaye, a spokesperson for the county District Attorney's office.

Morrison was arrested early Monday at his Cambridge home after one of the victims, a sophomore who asked not to be named, identified him in a photo array.

Police will not say why Morrison's photograph appeared in the series of photographs shown to the victim.

A spokesperson for the Harvard University Police Department said Monday she would not release Morrison's picture, citing departmental policy and the ongoing investigation.

Two other suspects remain at large.

A preliminary hearing for Morrison is scheduled for April 16 at 9 a.m. -Marc J. Ambinder
