Once Again, Crimson Bests Council, 23-2

The motion failed. There was a vote of no confidence. The nays had it.

No matter how you say it, hot Crimson bats and a rookie phenom on the mound were too much for the Undergraduate Council softball team yesterday afternoon, as the Crimson romped to a 23-2 win.

The Crimson team (1-0) was led by freshman starter Erica Levy, who was roughed up early but mystified council hitters down the stretch.

Levy struck out two and held the council scoreless after the second inning. She backed that up with great defensive work.

Behind Levy, the stellar in field work of Greg Krauss and great plays in the outfield by Jamal Greene, Meredith Osborn and William Bohlen kept the bases clear. Offensively, the Crimson pounded out several multi-run innings, with David Fahrenthold and Green going yard for three-and two-run homers, respectively.
