The House of Blues touts its Sunday Gospel Brunch as a "foot-stomping, soul-stirring non-denominational celebration featuring local and national gospel performers." Savor the Southern cuisine presented buffet-style by Chef Michael Monks. Advance tickets are available by calling 497-2229, but walk-ins are welcomed as well.
If you're more a foot-traveler than a foot-stomper, register early for Sunday's Cape Cod Times Marathon, Half-Marathon or five-miler. All three races start from Barnstable High School, West Main Street, Hyannis. For registration information, contact Sean Doherty at (508) 775-8877.
Stop by the John F. Kennedy Library and Museum as it commemorates the 36th anniversary of the nation's civil rights struggle by presenting a series of films from its audio-visual archives. The films will be shown at 10 a.m., 12 p.m. and 2 p.m., and include rarely seen footage of the demonstrations in Birmingham, Ala., and Kennedy's televised civil rights address.
After an enriching visit to the JFK Library and Museum, drop by the Medieval Manor Theatre-Restaurant located in the same neighborhood. The restaurant condones eating with your fingers and dressing in period-costume and is an appealing alternative to the typical Harvard dining hall experience. A minstrel entertains diners, and the "semi-improvisational show" has been likened to a Mel Brooks or Leslie Nielsen skit that "might offend the more conservative." Dinner shows are every night of the week. (617) 423-4900 for reservations. $18-32.
If Beastie Boys weren't your bag, head back to the Science Museum to try Laser Smashing Pumpkins at 8 p.m. or Laser Nine Inch Nails at 9:15 p.m. $7.50.
