Grafton Owners To Open New Bar

HARVARD BRIEFS

By Alan E. Wirzbicki

The owners of the popular Grafton Street Pub will open another bar on Mass. Ave. near the quad later this month, one of Grafton's co-owners said yesterday.

Temple Bar, named after a trendy neighborhood in Dublin, will open at 1688 Mass. Ave. between Harvard and Porter Squares, said Peter J. Lee, one of the five owners of Grafton.

The previous occupant, Nick's Bar, formerly Nick's Beef and Beer House, closed six months ago after 28 years on the site.

Lee said the new bar would cater to the same student clientele as Grafton Street.

"It's a similar concept as Grafton Street," Lee said, "but a little bigger; it won't look like it, really."

On the menu will be burgers, pizza, salads and appetizers.

Like Grafton Street, Temple Bar will stay open until 1 a.m.
