The following events were reported by the Cambridge Police Department in the previous week.

Oct. 29, 1997

A resident of Jefferson Street reported that a group of five youths threw eggs at his house.

Oct. 30, 1997

At 5 p.m. Ramone Meadows of 6 Ware St. in Dorchester was arrested at 71 Mt. Auburn St. for "open and gross lewdness."

An Irving Street resident reported that at 11 a.m. an unknown person took his backpack while he was using a telephone on JFK Street near Mt. Auburn Street.

Oct. 31, 1997

The Massachusetts State Police recovered a 1989 Toyota Corolla sedan from the Charles River. The vehicle had been reported stolen on Oct. 30.

At 9 p.m. an employee of Harvard Square Florist, located at 13 Holyoke St., reported that at 12 p.m. he was pushed by a man after asking him to leave the store.

At 1:53 a.m., an employee of Cambridge Emergency Communications reported receiving as many as 16 phone calls from unknown parties who threatened to do bodily harm to those involved in the Louise Woodward trial.

An employee of Cambridge Emergency Communications reported at 2 a.m. that a man threatened to blow up the courthouse at 40 Thorndike St.

Nov. 1, 1997

Bruce McHenry of 28 Elm St. was arrested on Oct. 31 at 10:30 p.m. after assaulting a security guard at a Harvard University residence hall.

Nov. 2, 1997

A resident of Hampshire Street reported that between 4 and 6 p.m. on Oct. 31 unknown persons spray-painted the left side of her car, which was parked in front of her residence.
