Cambridge Police Log

The following events were listed in the Cambridge Police Department blotter from Mar. 19 to Mar. 29.

Mar. 19

A Garden Street resident reports that an unknown person stole her Harvard University identification card and money from her wallet while she was inside Grendel's Den. Her purse was found in a Grendel's bathroom, but her wallet was missing.

Mar. 20

A Medford resident reports that while working as a cab driver, he picked up a male at The Inn at Harvard. The man asked the driver to take him to the Arlington Police station. Once at the police station, the suspect asked the driver if he could borrow $100 to bail out his friend from jail. The cab driver lent the suspect $100. The suspect returned from the police station and told the driver to take him to Peabody Terrace. The suspect left the cab at Peabody Terrace and never returned.

A juvenile reports that at 4:30 p.m., another juvenile approached him at the Agassiz School and asked if he was wrestling. The victim said "no." The suspect said "let me show you something" and threw the victim to the ground. The suspect then took the victim's hockey stick, hit the victim repeatedly, and kicked the victim several times.

Mar. 22

A Jamaica Plain resident and a Boston resident report that while standing in line at Rhythm and Spice at 315 Mass. Ave., they were yelled at and pushed out of the way by a store employee.

Mar. 23

A grandmother and her grandson had a verbal argument over misplaced property. They both refused a restraining order.

Mar. 24

A Corcoran Park resident reports that he got a call from his ex-girlfriend who said, "Don't think you're going to leave me." She also said she had a restraining order against him.

A Cambridge resident reports that between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. his limo was scratched while in a Memorial Drive parking lot by people rubbing against it and jumping on it.

Mar. 25

A Cambridge resident reports that someone discarded trash containing beauty salon waste products in her yard.

Mar. 26

A Memorial Drive resident was arrested in Holyoke Center for possession of a dangerous weapon and resisting arrest. The suspect also had an outstanding warrant for his arrest.

Mar. 27

A Cambridge resident reports that he met a homeless man at a bus terminal and offered him lodging for the night. After the suspect left the victim's dwelling, the complainant observed several items missing.

An employee of Alpha Omega Jewelers on J.F.K. Street reports that a male removed a gold necklace from a display case while another male distracted the employee.

Mar. 28

A Cambridge resident reports that an employee of The Border Cafe punched him in the stomach and fled the scene with a short wave radio belonging to the victim. The incident occurred in the victim's home.

Mar. 29

A Newtowne Court resident reports that a male unknown to her approached her and began to scream in her face.
