To the editors:

In the wake of the recently alleged rape on campus, I'd like to express my own support and the support of countless others for the woman and her courage to speak out about her terrible experience.

On first reading about the allegations in The Crimson (News, Feb. 3), my first thought, as well as that of many other people with whom I've talked about it, was one of compassion and admiration for this woman who is willing to endure the storm of attention and recalled emotion inherent in reporting this incident. May her strength of character be a lesson to us all as we stand in support of her and of others victimized as she has been, whether male or female. DANIEL J. EPSTEIN '99   Feb. 5, 1998
