To the editors:

Thank you so much for Sujit Raman's column about calling home (Opinion, Nov. 17). I too receive strange looks when I tell people I call home every single day. I realized a long time ago that my parents and my sister are my best friends. This is especially important at a school like Harvard, where it is sometimes hard to find a support group. I too am glad that I left home, simply because I have grown to appreciate the closeness of my family. GHIA E. GODFREE '00   Nov. 17, 1998
