Let's Care About Race

To the editors:

The Crimson's race poll (News, Jan. 12) on race was very revealing. If 90 percent or more of those polled don't care, or care very little, about race relations at Harvard--then they probably don't care about race relations in general. I don't know if our generation will continue to have the luxury of being so self-absorbed.

Isn't it time to take the proverbial blinders off now? Can't we see what's happening around us in this country and the world? BRETT S. DUMAS   Fair Haven, N.J., Jan. 23, 1998
