Bonislawski to Chair Four-Member Body

By Laura C. Semerjian

The Cambridge Board of Election Commissioners held its annual reorganization meeting last Wednesday.

The election commission is responsible for conducting all public elections, voter registration and the annual city census. The commission also is responsible for administering municipal campaign and political finance reporting for the city.

Darleen G. Bonislawski was elected chair of the commission; Artis B. Spears, vice-chair; Wayne A. "Rusty" Drugan Jr., secretary, and Lynne A. Molnar, assistant secretary.

According to Spears, a funeral-home proprietor who has been on the commission for the past 16 years, the commission plans to continue operating as usual in the upcoming months.

"We're just going to continue work on the computerization of the municipal elections," Spears said.

The commission will administer elections for the nine-member City Council in November.
