Kelly Black has come a long way. She has risen from the depths of an injury-plagued early career to become the co-captain of the Harvard women's basketball team and one of the premier post players in the Ivy League.
It was only fitting that in the final two games of the team's history-making undefeated season, Black came up big for the Crimson. Saturday the 6'1 forward poured in a career-high 27 points on 11-of-17 shooting in Harvard's 104-73 defeat of Brown.
Then, in Tuesday night's season finale against Dartmouth, Black scored 15 points, including a three-pointer that helped put the pesky Big Green away in the second half.
Black is the Crimson's third-leading scorer and second-leading rebounder. She and her teammates will play in the NCAA Tournament in two weeks.
