Core reform legislation will take a winding path through the Faculty on its road to implementation.
Professor Sidney Verba and his committee formally propose legislation to reform the Core two weeks before the full Faculty meeting.
Faculty meeting: the committee presents the legislation. The Faculty have several choices:
1. Approve it as is - 7 requirements plus a QRR course requirement
2. Amend it and then approve it
3. Table it or send it back to the committee for further study
4. Reject it. Core reform could then be re-studied at a later date.
Faculty and administrators say the legislation would go into effect (at least the QRR part) in '98-'99 at the earliest.
