Bar Would Polarize

On two recent occasions, the staff has wisely advocated the introduction of fast food, lower prices and longer hours as a means of setting confused Loker Commons on the path to success. These moves would draw undergraduates of all ages and stripes.

A bar, however, would (presumably) serve only the limited number of undergraduates of legal drinking age, and would likely boost the already abundant number of graduate students at Loker. Rather than bring students together in a genial environment, alcohol would only fragment the student body beneath Memorial Hall just as it does above ground.
