Love Hits Harvard Campus

Romance was in the air as students hit the streets last night to celebrate Valentine's Day at a variety of campus events.

The Dudley House Co-op hosted a Multicultural Valentine's Day Extravaganza with mood-music, a reading of international love poems and a mix of romantic dances, foods, and art displays.

Members of the Harvard-Radcliffe Ballet Folklorico de Aztlan demonstrated several Mexican dances at the event, from the artful El Son de la Negra to El Jarabe Tapastio.

Meanwhile, at Leverett House, nine tutors provided the musical entertainment for the Master's Open House and Valentine's Day dance.

Gordon Harvey, the assistant director of Expos, organized the band, which has been practicing four to five hours a night for the last two weeks.

At Adams House, students in slinky cocktail dress populated the Upper Common Room for the house's annual Chocoholica event. Attendees dined on erotically shaped chocolate at the gourmet extravaganza, where the specialty of the night was the "Whopper."

At the same time, other students attended the Valentine's Day Soiree at the Boston Ritz-Carlton. The dance was sponsored by several student groups including the Black Students Association and the Undergraduate Council.
