The editorial in today's Crimson is written on the basis of a serious misapprehension, and omits a very important fact.
The misapprehension is that the Faculty Council has approved a recommendation of the Core Standing Committee to eliminate Science A Core credit for certain AP scores. While that recommendation was indeed reported to the Council, the Council took no action on the matter.
The fact omitted from the editorial is that Dean of the Faculty Jeremy R. Knowles announced at last week's Faculty Meeting that he was postponing action on the recommendation to eliminate Science A Core credit for certain AP scores, pending further discussion of the matter. --John B. Fox Jr. '59, secretary of the Faculty and to the Faculty Council
